Report fake travel agents – NAPTIP

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has called on Nigerians to report any suspicious means of travelling abroad.

The agency in a statement on its Facebook handle expressed concern over the living condition of Nigerians who have been allegedly lured to Iraq.

It also cautioned Nigerians to be careful in their bid to secure foreign jobs in other countries.

It reads in part, “we expressed concern over the welfare of Nigerian women being exploited in Iraq, allegedly lured there under false pretenses.

“The Director-General of NAPTIP has called on the public to be vigilant and exercise caution when considering job offers abroad, particularly those that seem too good to be true.

“If you come across suspicious opportunities to travel abroad, (for work or any other purpose) report it by calling the NAPTIP Hotline on 627 (MTN subscribers only) or 07030000203 (all other networks).

“Stay vigilant, stay safe.”
