Ahead of the 2023 general election the Acting Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Mrs. Christy Uba has warned Corps Members against their conduct during the election.

She warned them against compromising the electoral process. Adding that anyone who violates the electoral laws would be sanctioned appropriately.

She said this on the heels that some Corps members across the country would be serving as ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission at the 2023 poll.

Mrs. Uba said this at the commissioning of 800 seater hall at the NYSC Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan on Wednesday.

“My message for the Corps Members is that they must be patriotic and they must take instructions.

“They are supposed to be trained and during that training, they must be very attentive and whatever they would have been taught should be able to make good use of it during the election.

“They should not allow themselves to be compromised.
The same goes for the NYSC whom usually train along with the INEC staff of what is expected of them during the election.

“The guidelines of the rules and regulations are consequences of violating the law. They are tutored and told to be patriotic in the course of the election because if found wanting the course of the law will be ignited on them. There is no difference between you and the other Nigerian. Anybody who is found guilty will face the court of the law”.

While commissioning the project, the Acting DG commended the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogebe, and members of staff for the achievements.

She stated that the success recorded is an indication that Oyo State NYSC team is working in unity for the success of the scheme.
