Adekanbi Land Tussle: Absence of Brent Group Chairman, PSC, Other Stall Court Proceeding

The absence of the Chairman, Brent Group, Mr. Akinola Martins on Monday stalled court proceedings on the acquisition of lands at Adekanbi village.

Other respondents absent includes the representatives of the Police Service Commission and Inspector General of Police.

Recall that residents of Adekanbi village, located at Egbeda local government area in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital earlier decried the alleged ‘illegal acquisition’ of their lands as well as demolition of houses and other properties by Mr. Akinola Martins.

According to the report, Mr. Akinola who claimed to have rightfully acquired the land stormed the premises and demolished houses and farms.

The case which was listed for cross examination on Monday at Fiat High Court 7 Iyaganku, could not proceed as a result of the absence of the respondents.

The Counsel to the residents, Barr. Tope Olayinka applied for motion ex parte which was approved by the presiding Judge, Justice M.I Sule.

The case was however adjourned to 2nd of June, 2022.
