NSCDC Coorperative Society To Withdraw from IPPIS Over Irregularities

The Nigeria Civil Defense Corps Staff Corporative Society says it has considered withdrawing from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) over some Irregularities.

Members of the Society have been experiencing over-deduction and under-deduction from their account for past few years.

According to the Organisation financial report for the year, over N6 million from over-deductions from members is yet to be remitted back to the Society by IPPIS.

Speaking at the 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Oyo NSCDC Cooperative Society held at the State Command’s Headquarters in Ibadan, the Organization’s President, DSC Adebayo Kayode stated that a new Debit Direct System will be adobted as the lingering issues has led to an alarming increase of defaulters.

He said, “the default rate have relatively increased due to incessant errors in IPPIS deduction which made over-deduction very rampant. With the introduction of Debit Direct by this Administration to resolve in totality the menace created by IPPIS, we strongly believe that the issue of over-deduction and under-deduction will soon be a thing of the past.” He added.

While enumerating some of the achievement of the Administration for the 2021 financial year, Mr. Kayode disclosed that the society’s surplus for the year increased to N33,023,429.42 as against N29,142.199.34 for previous year.

According to him, notable stride were also attained which led to the commencement of the Cooperative Pure Water Production, Procurement of Executive Hummer Bus, Clearing of Inherited Loan of N15,386.000, Introduction of Debit Direct as well as other achievements.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State NSCDC Commandant, CC Adaralewa Akintayo has applauded the Coorperative Society Executives for their remarkable achievements.

Speaking while presenting his address, the Commandant urged them to find lasting solutions to issues caused by IPPIS.

“I must sincerely commend the current leadership for their outstanding achievements within one year in office.

“I must however stress the need to hurriedly find a lasting solution to the issue of over-deduction and under-deduction created by IPPIS which need to be address by the executive committee, so that the hardship created by this platform will be put behind us. Though I am aware of the efforts of the executive with the introduction of Debit Direct Software, yet I believe you need to do more.” He added.
