Zamfara Gov. suspends Emir over alleged involvement with Bandit

The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has suspended the Emir of Zurm,i Alh. Atiku Abubakar Muhammad over his alleged involvement with Bandits in the State.
This was according to a statement signed by the Ag. Secretary to the State Government, Kabiru Balarabe and made available to NATIONAL TELESCOPE on Friday, June 10, 2021.
According to the statement, the appointed a committee to invitigate the issue while the Bunun Kanwa, Alh. Bello Suleiman is to take over as Emir.

The statement reads, “This is to inform the general public that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON, (Shatiman Sokoto, Barden Hausa), has approved the suspension of Emir of Zurm,i Alh. Atiku Abubakar Muhammad. Accordingly, Alh. Bello Suleiman (Bunun Kanwa) is to take charge of Affairs of the Emirate immediately.

“In the meantime, His Excellency has also approved the constitution of a high powered Committee to investigate allegations made against the suspended Emir, Committee is as follows:
Former Deputy Governor, Mal. Ibrahim Wakkala Muhd as Chairman, Former Deputy Governor, Mukhtar Ahmad Anka, Hon. Faruku Musa Dosara -Zamfara State House Leader, Rtd DIG Mamman Tsafe – Special  Adviser Security, Hon. Yusuf Abubakar Zugu – Special Adviser Chieftaincy Affairs, Representative of the Police, Representative of the DSS, Rep. of Civil Defence.

Others are: Permanent Secretary, Musa Liman Shinkafi, Security & Home Affairs as Secretary.

Meanwhile, the Committee is given three (3) weeks within which to complete its assignment and submit report.
