The Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor Labode Popoola has approved the commencement of Students’ Union in Osun State University.
The constitution of the Union was approved today, 9th June, 2020 in a meeting between the management and students’ leaders inside the council chamber.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola who spoke with Olofofo news explained that the University approved the Students’ Union so that they can start operating.
“We have approved the Students’ Union Constitution and it has been handed over to the students’ leaders” – VC said.
Professor Labode Popoola who urged the students’ leaders to be of good behavior, noted that the approved constitution was drafted by students who are their predecessors.
“They can now start operating within the constitution that is handed over to them. They will elect their officers also.” – he added.
Recall that the struggle of having Students’ Union started about four years ago under the umbrella of Joint Campus Committee (JCC).
