A Kwara-born US based Pharmacist Dr. Abdulraheem Malik has been commended by the Kwara State Government for donating over 2,500 face masks as palliative to the State.
The Kwara State Technical Committee on Covid-19 led by the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi lauded the Managing Director of Rotamedics pharmacy as the first pharmacy to contribute palliative in the state.
The deputy Governor who doubles as the Chairman of the committee gave the commendation while receiving 1,000 face masks donation by Rotamedics pharmacy at his office in ilorin on Friday.
“I want to appreciate Dr. Malik and Rotamedics pharmacy for this donation. It’s a good one and very laudable. they are the first pharmacy to contribute palliatives towards this pandemic.
“The use of face mask is very important in curtailing the spread of this infection. I want to urge kwarans to use it while complying fully with the stay at home order as directed. Its very important to ensure we curtail the spread of this disease.
Similarly, Friends of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (FAA) lauded Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, for contributing 500 face masks to support the organisation in the fight against Covid-19 in the State.
Receiving the palliative on behalf of the organization, FAA Director General, Mr Taiye Abdulmalik expressed concern over the spread of coronavirus in the country.
“This kind gesture by Dr. Malik is highly commendable. We appreciate him and we thank him a lot and we hope that other well meaning kwarans in diaspora will take a cue from this act of kindness.
“The State Government has really been putting efforts to safe guard the life of the people in the state especially since we had 2 cases of the disease in the State and I must sincerely commend our Governor and and the deputy governor for been able to reduce the spread. he said.
In the same vein, the Magaji Ngeri Community commended the Kwara-born US based Pharmacist, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik for donating 1,000 face masks to the community to combat the spread of the pandemic in the community.
Receiving the items on behalf of the community head, Hon. Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin, his personal assistant, Mallam Ola Magaji appreciated the pharmacist for contributing to his community.
He however assured him that the materials will be utilized for the purpose it is mearnt for.
He said the item is arriving at the right time that many people are in need of it.
Speaking on the donation, the Managing Director, Rotamedics Pharmacy, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik appreciate the Deputy Governor, FAA and Community for accepting the donation.
He expressed concern over the high rate of the infection spread in other countries, saying that adequate preventive measures is key to reducing the spread of the pandemic.
Dr. Malik lauded the Kwara State Government and the States Technical Committee for the efforts in combating the spread of the disease in the state.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the state government as well as the States Technical Committee on Covid-19, the FAA and my loving community for accepting our donations.
“The rate at which the disease spreads in some states overseas is alarming and for our community to survive and win over this deadly disease, we must follow all relevant preventive measures.
“And this is why we decided at own little way to contribute the masks to support the efforts of the state ” He said
He reiterated that his pharmacy is opened to all residents in Kwara to access free temperatures check while the distribution of face mask continues at its head office.
