The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Olaiya Victor Mobolaji, to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), marking a major milestone in his law enforcement career.
The announcement, conveyed by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, also confirmed the elevation of other senior police officers to AIG.
Those promoted include Fasuba Olabode, CP Special Fraud Unit, Force Headquarters; Musibau Ajani, CP Admin, FCID; Aliyu Musa, CP Katsina State Command; Patrick Atayero, CP Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), Force Headquarters; and Gyogon Augustine Grimah, CP Cross River State Command.In a bid to strengthen leadership within the force, the PSC also approved the promotion of several Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) to Commissioners of Police (CP).
Among them is Ojo Adekimi, DCP Operations, Kwara State Command, alongside Olabode Ojajuni of Ogun State CID and Adewale Ajao of Zone-2 CID, Lagos.
Speaking on the development, Ani emphasized the rigorous screening process the officers underwent, including examinations and interviews, before their elevations were confirmed.
“The Commission remains committed to ensuring that only the best officers with proven integrity and professionalism are promoted to lead the Nigeria Police Force at various levels,” he said.
The promotions are expected to enhance policing efforts across the country, reinforcing crime-fighting strategies and ensuring the safety of Nigerians.
