The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has condemned the actions of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for inciting violence and bloodshed.
The group insists that Kanu must be held accountable for his actions, which have led to the loss of lives of security personnel and northern Nigerians residing in the South East.
According to CNG’s National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, Kanu’s conduct at the Federal High Court in Abuja was a threat to national stability.
Kanu’s remarks, which included insulting the prosecuting lawyer and demanding the judge recuse himself from the case, demonstrate a lack of respect for the legal process and professionalism.
Charanchi stated that Kanu’s actions undermine the rule of law and promote divisive rhetoric.
The coalition alleged that Kanu’s broadcasts from exile incited attacks on security personnel, government institutions, and northern Nigerians residing in the South East.
Despite IPOB’s proscription as a terrorist organization in 2017, Kanu continued to direct violent activities, CNG claimed.
The group emphasized that Kanu’s actions have caused harm to many innocent lives and must be held accountable for his crimes.
CNG rejected calls for Kanu’s release, emphasizing that he must face the consequences of his actions.
The group urged Nigerians to stand firm against terrorism and those who support it, vowing not to let the sacrifices of those who died in the fight against terrorism be in vain.
CNG reiterated its stance against IPOB’s secessionist agenda, emphasizing that previous warnings about the dangers of violent separatist movements must not be ignored.
