Gospel singer Paul Nwokocha has addressed rumours surrounding his troubled marriage in a video on his official YouTube channel.
He explained that he has no regrets about ending his relationship, citing his wife’s alleged “abominable acts” as the main reason for his decision.
He said that if he discovers his wife is engaging in immoral behaviour, he would not hesitate to send her away.
In the video posted on Sunday, Nwokocha revealed that his estranged wife had been sending nude photos and videos to other men. He also responded to critics who questioned his decision to separate, asking how they would feel if they were betrayed in a similar manner. He made it clear that he married a wife, not a promiscuous woman, and insisted he owed no one an apology for his actions.
The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some people supporting his stance on morality, while others question the appropriateness of sharing such private matters publicly.
Nwokocha’s marital troubles have been ongoing, as he has now ended his second marriage after only two years. The bride’s family has returned the bride price, signalling the dissolution of the union.
His second marriage was to Goodness Nwokocha, whom he married in September 2023, just a month after separating from his first wife, Alice Nwokocha.
His separation from Alice was reportedly due to mistreatment, including her refusal to serve him food.
Sources close to the family reveal that Nwokocha’s second marriage faced difficulties from the start.
Goodness allegedly endured mistreatment in the marriage and was treated more like a housemaid than a wife.
It was also revealed that Goodness had no romantic history with Nwokocha before their marriage and had moved from Lagos to be with him at the urging of his uncles, without any prior background checks.
By May 2024, tensions had increased, and with the return of the bride price, the marriage came to an official end.
