Afrobeats star Rema is preparing to drop his first single of 2025, titled “Baby (Is It a Crime)” on Friday, February 7, 2025.
This announcement comes shortly after his nomination for Best Global Album at the 67th Grammys.
The new track samples Sade’s classic song “Is It a Crime” from her 1985 album “Promise.” Rema’s version is expected to mix his Afrobeats style with Sade’s soulful sound.
“Baby (Is It a Crime)” will be Rema’s first release since his second album “HEIS” in 2024, which celebrated the history of Nigerian music and encouraged the industry to find inspiration within.
Meanwhile, singer Ayra Starr is starting the year with a fresh single, “All The Love,” scheduled for release on February 11, just before Valentine’s Day.
The song, which Ayra previewed on her social media, blends R&B and Afrobeats and highlights her powerful vocals.
After a successful 2024, where she released her highly praised sophomore album “The Year I Turned 21,” Ayra Starr is ready to keep the momentum going. The album featured collaborations with major artists like Asake, Seyi Vibez, Coco Jones, Giveon, and Aniita.
