Oborevwori, Okowa Not Welcome in APC – Omo-Agege

DELTA: Former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has ruled out any possibility of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that they should remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Ika South and Ika North East, Omo-Agege emphasized that while the party is expanding in Delta State, Oborevwori and Okowa are not welcome.

“After the 2023 elections, PDP claimed APC no longer exists in Delta, but today, the only PDP senator is set to join us, along with three House of Representatives members. Are we not the majority party?” he asked.

He highlighted APC’s growing influence in Delta Central Senatorial District, stating:

“In Delta Central, where both Governor Oborevwori and I come from, APC won the senatorial seat, two House of Reps seats, and five out of nine House of Assembly seats. PDP got nothing at the federal level. So, which party is truly stronger?”

Omo-Agege accused Oborevwori’s government of stifling Delta Assembly members, saying:

“Governor Oborevwori’s government is punishing lawmakers. If you speak out, you face suspension. That’s why many of them will soon join APC. But as for Oborevwori and Okowa, they should stay in PDP and rebuild their party.”

He assured party members that APC’s internal issues in Delta would be resolved before 2027, urging them to focus on the next elections and re-electing President Bola Tinubu.

Also speaking, APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening its structure in Delta State. Other party leaders at the event stressed the need for unity and reconciliation to position APC for victory in 2027.
