DELTA: Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his appointment as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content.
In a statement titled “My Gratitude”, personally signed and made available to journalists, Senator Joel-Onowakpo also thanked Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senate Majority Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, and the entire Senate leadership for the confidence reposed in him.
The senator pledged to work tirelessly to promote local content policies that would drive economic growth, empower Nigerians, and contribute to national development.
“This honour is not taken lightly, and I pledge to discharge my duties with utmost dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to advancing our legislative responsibilities,” he stated.
He assured Nigerians that the committee under his leadership would focus on strengthening local industries, ensuring that indigenous businesses benefit from government contracts, and implementing policies that foster job creation.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo also expressed gratitude to the people of Delta South Senatorial District for their unwavering support since his election to the Senate.
“I will do my utmost to ensure that my people receive what is rightfully due to them. Your trust and support inspire me to work harder,” he assured.
The lawmaker called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that the president remains committed to economic growth and national development.
“With humility and determination, I embrace this opportunity to serve the Senate, our great nation, and humanity at large. Together, we shall achieve remarkable progress,” he added.
