Tinubu Appoints Heads for NPC, FCC, Others

President Bola Tinubu, amid revitalising federal agencies has approved the appointment of commissioners to several important bodies, including the National Population Commission, the Federal Character Commission, and the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The details were shared in a statement on Monday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The new appointments are set to take effect starting February 3, 2025, and will last for an initial period of five years.

Among those appointed, Kayode Oladele will serve as the Federal Commissioner for the Federal Character Commission, while Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan has been designated as a Commissioner in the National Population Commission.

Furthermore, a robust team of 21 new federal commissioners has been selected for the RMAFC, comprising a blend of both fresh faces and returning members.

Notable additions to the RMAFC include Linda Nkechi Oti from Abia, Akpan Imo Effiong from Akwa Ibom, and Enefe Ekene from Anambra. Alongside them, Steve Ugbah from Benue, Wumi Ogunlola from Ekiti, and Adamu Fanda from Kano will also be taking on their first roles in these crucial positions.

In addition to the new appointees, several commissioners have received renewed terms, including Eyo Nsa Whiley from Cross River, Victor Eboigbe from Edo, and Olusegun Adekunle Wright from Lagos.

Imohiosen confirmed that “the appointments are in accordance with the provisions governing political, public, and judicial officeholders.”

He emphasized the President’s expectations, stating, “The President urges the Federal Commissioners to give maximum support to their various Heads to achieve the vision and mission of their respective agencies in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

This reshaping of leadership within federal agencies is seen as a pivotal step towards achieving the government’s goals and enhancing service delivery to the Nigerian populace.
