Turkey-based Nigerian activist and blogger, Beatrice Opeyemi, popularly known as Tenny Omo Ologo, has shared her journey as an independent justice advocate, calling for justice for the late Nigerian singer Mohbad.
In a recent interview, Omo Ologo explained how she became involved in the fight for Mohbad’s justice by chance.
She said, “I am a human rights activist, but I started fighting for Mohbad’s justice unexpectedly. I was in Cairo when I got a call asking if I had heard about the death of a young Nigerian musician.

“At the time, I didn’t know who Mohbad was, so I quickly Googled his name and saw an outpouring of RIP messages, along with his music videos going viral.
“My interest grew when I saw reports that, during his burial, his casket was opened, revealing his body stuffed inside with his neck broken.
People began to speculate about his family’s negligence, as well as the involvement of his label owner, Naira Marley, and Sam Larry.”
Omo Ologo also mentioned a post made by Sam Larry after Mohbad’s burial, suggesting that the case was closed, which further fuelled her desire to seek justice.
“That’s when I decided to use my platform to fight for the young man,” she said.
On the issue of justice for Mohbad, Omo Ologo expressed her disappointment, placing part of the blame on the Lagos State government.
“When Mohbad’s body was exhumed, the Lagos State government promised an investigation and assured the public that justice would be served.
“But we wouldn’t be in this state of frustration if the government had done the right thing from the beginning.”
She further criticised the Nigerian government for its failure to act on matters affecting its citizens.
“As a Nigerian citizen, I am deeply saddened and embarrassed that the government is not taking action on issues that concern its people,” Omo Ologo added.
The activist remains steadfast in her commitment to seeing that justice is served for Mohbad, urging both the Nigerian authorities and the public to ensure that the singer’s death is thoroughly investigated.
