In a bold move, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has withdrawn the Right of Occupancy (R of O) for several plot allottees and title holders in Maitama II, Abuja, due to their failure to settle outstanding Certificate of Occupational (C of O) bills.

The decision, effective January 15, 2025, affects 568 individuals, including prominent politicians and public figures.

Among those affected are Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, Governors Duoye Diri (Bayelsa) and Hope Odidika Uzodimma (Imo), as well as other high-profile individuals.

The FCTA’s action is aimed at enforcing compliance with the terms of land allocations and ensuring accountability in the administration of land resources in the Federal Capital Territory.

The administration emphasized that individuals who completed their payments on or before the January 15, 2025, deadline are not affected by this decision.

The FCTA also warned against transactions involving the affected plots and urged stakeholders to meet their obligations promptly to avoid similar actions in the future.
