Election: Police assures Corps Members, INEC Staff, others of Safety

The Nigerian Police Force has assured Corps Members and other Adhoc Staff recruited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for upcoming general election in the country of adequate security.

The Police Public Relation Officer kwara state command, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi in an interview with CAMPUS FOCUS at the 1st National Dialogue on 2019 General  Election organized by Zero Tolerance for Social Immoralities Initiative (ZETSI Africa), in Ilorin on Thursday.

Okasanmi stated that everyone involved in the process including the law abiding masses will be properly secured. Added that, the force has put in place measures to ensure all INEC facilities is properly secured.

While assuring the masses of a smooth process, he urged members of the public to be law abiding. Added that the force will prosecute anyone who goes against the law.

“I will want to assure the Corp members, the INEC Staff, The Material and even the electorate that we are ready to provide adequate security.

While also enjoining the youths not to allow themselves to disrupt the peace of the community, Okasanmi said “If they said you are the leaders of tomorrow and you support someone and die today, how will that manifestation come to play. It is best to ensure peaceful process for all our interest.

“You have to ensure to avoid been used to create problems for the country. During the poll, I advise you carry out vote peacefully, and go back home to rest instead of putting yourself in one problem or the other. He added
