Olumba Olumba Church Reacts to Viral Video Amid Leadership Crisis

The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), commonly known as Olumba Olumba, has dismissed viral social media videos claiming a leadership crisis within the church as “spurious, purported, and highly misleading.”

Speaking at a press conference held at Four Towns Bethel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, the church’s spokesman, PCS Amah Williams, clarified that the alleged incidents did not occur at the church’s world headquarters in Calabar.

Williams assured the public that the headquarters remains calm and peaceful and described the videos as misrepresentations of events at a property in Uyo owned by the church.

According to him, the property was invaded by hired hoodlums under the guise of a splinter group called the New Kingdom Ministry.

The spokesman explained that the property is currently a subject of litigation.

On October 17, 2024, the Akwa Ibom State High Court dismissed a lawsuit filed by the New Kingdom Ministry, ruling in favour of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.

Despite the ruling, members of the splinter group allegedly organized the invasion, which Williams called a “clear contempt of court.”

“Their actions, as seen in the viral video, reveal a lack of spiritual understanding and disregard for legal processes,” Williams said, citing biblical passages to emphasize the unity of God and the Son.

He urged the public to disregard the group’s claims and focus on the church’s mission to promote the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of mankind.

Williams also announced the 2024 Universal Celebration of the Divine Manifestation of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, themed The Unshakable King.

The event is scheduled to take place from November 18 to 24, 2024, at the church’s world headquarters in Calabar.

The church reaffirmed its commitment to peace and the rule of law while condemning actions aimed at tarnishing its reputation.
