Oyo Gov Presents N678.86bn 2025 Budget to Assembly

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented a proposed budget of N678.86 billion for 2025 to the State House of Assembly, describing it as a “Budget of Economic Stabilisation.”

The 2025 budget proposal reflects a 35% increase compared to the 2024 budget.

In his address, Governor Makinde highlighted the budget breakdown, with capital expenditure set at N349.29 billion (50.59%) and recurrent expenditure at N325.57 billion (49.41%).

Key allocations include:

  • Infrastructure: N152.26 billion (22.46% of the budget), marking it as the largest share.
  • Education: N145.26 billion (21.44%).
  • Health: N59 billion (9%).
  • Agriculture: N18 billion (3%).

Makinde reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the well-being of Oyo State residents, emphasizing that his administration would focus on key sectors to boost growth and stability.

Speaker of the House, Adebo Ogundoyin, assured that the Assembly would begin its review promptly, pledging to ensure transparency and accountability in all areas.

He committed to fast-tracking the budget’s passage to facilitate timely project implementation across the state in the coming year.
