Outrage As NDLEA Officials Allegedly Kills Youth During Raid In Plateau

By Chuks Peter, DELTA

Residents of Dangi in Kanam Local Government Area, Plateau State, have accused officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of killing a young man, Faisal Yakubu Hussaini, during a recent raid on a lodge in the area.

Community members alleged that NDLEA officials conducted the raid, firing gunshots that led to Faisal’s death. Witnesses claimed they sought clarification from the officers on whether any crimes had been committed but received no answers.

The incident has sparked condemnation from the Kanam Development Association (KADA). KADA’s Chairman, Barrister G. Aliyu, and Secretary, ND Shehu Kanam, expressed deep dismay at the event. “The leadership of KADA is deeply outraged and saddened by the extrajudicial killing of Faisal Yakubu Hussaini by NDLEA officers in Dangi,” said Shehu Kanam. “This heinous act is unacceptable and violates the fundamental human rights of the victim. While the NDLEA has the right to enforce the law, we condemn this brutal and unjustifiable killing. This action erodes public trust in law enforcement.”

Kanam urged residents to remain calm, adding that the association would pursue legal measures to ensure justice. “We will not let this incident go unchecked and will work tirelessly to ensure those responsible are held accountable,” he stated.

The NDLEA’s Plateau State Public Relations Officer, Abba Muhammad Sani, told Daily Trust that the agency would investigate the matter thoroughly and respond appropriately.
