#2019Debate: Moghalu, Durotoye, Ezekwesili Reveals Plans to Revive Education Sector

The Presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, Kingsley Moghalu, has said that if elected, he will put a definite end to the perennial strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

“I will end ASUU strike in Nigeria,” Moghalu vows.

The presidential hopeful spoke in response to a question on how each of the candidates would make education accessible and affordable for every Nigerian child.

In her own response, the presidential candidate of the ACPN, Oby Ezekwesili, noted that teaching must be modernised.

“We will take teaching to the prestigious profession that it once was by training the teachers massively, and equipping them with the new knowledge of the new economy,” Ezekwesili says.

She added that education has always been known as a pathway to human progress, warning that economic and social mobility are only possible through good education.

The presidential candidate of ANN, Fela Durotoye, said since teaching impacts much on student performance, teachers’ welfare and training would be a focus of his administration in its bid to make for quality education.
