Nigeria’s Super Eagles Fly High in Latest FIFA Rankings

The Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, has made a significant leap in the latest FIFA rankings, jumping three spots to 36th place globally.

According to the October rankings released by FIFA, Nigeria garnered 1503.29 points, thanks to their impressive 1-0 victory over Libya in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on October 11.

The Super Eagles’ upward movement also improved their continental standing, securing fourth place behind Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt. This demonstrates the team’s growing strength and competitiveness on the African stage.

The top three teams remain unchanged, with Argentina holding onto the number one spot, followed closely by France and Spain. Other notable climbers includes Portugal (7th, up 1),Italy (9th, up 1), Algeria (37th, up 4), Peru (38th, up 5), Greece (42nd, up 6).

Other African nations making significant strides in the rankings include Equatorial Guinea (88th, up 6), Zimbabwe (117th, up 7),The Gambia (128th, up 7),Botswana (140th, up 7), with the largest point gain (38.30 points).
