Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates Set to Start Friday

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2024, Second Series, will commence on Friday, October 25, and run until Friday, December 20, 2024.

In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC indicated that the examination will utilize a hybrid delivery mode.

This means that candidates will complete objective or multiple-choice questions on-screen, while essay and practical questions will also be displayed on-screen, but responses for these will need to be written in the provided answer booklets.

WAEC has extended the registration period for candidates until Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Additionally, candidates will have the option to take all examination papers using the traditional Paper and Pen mode if they prefer.

The Council also highlighted the “Walk-in-Candidate” option, allowing candidates who register at least 24 hours before their chosen paper to participate. The final timetable for the examination is available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website.

WAEC encourages both intending and registered candidates to make use of the various learning resources it offers, including the WAEC e-Study platform, WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and the WAECKonnect platform for peer interaction.

WAEC wished all candidates success and reiterated its commitment to leveraging technological innovations to enhance service delivery for all stakeholders.
