NNPC to Sell Dangote Petrol at N1,019 per litre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has announced that petrol from the Dangote Refinery will be sold at varying prices across the country.

According to a statement by NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, petrol prices will reach as high as N1,019 per litre in Borno State, while in Abuja, Sokoto, and Kano, it will cost N999.22 per litre.

In southern states like Oyo and Rivers, the price will be N960 per litre.

Lagos and surrounding areas will enjoy the lowest price of N950 per litre.

Soneye emphasized that these prices, determined based on September 2024 rates, reflect negotiations between parties and are not set by the government, in accordance with the Petroleum Industry Act.

The NNPC noted that the petrol purchased on Sunday was billed in US dollars, with naira transactions beginning on October 1, 2024.

If any discrepancies arise, NNPC will seek discounts from the Dangote Refinery and pass them directly to consumers.

The Dangote Group had earlier disputed NNPC’s reported price of N898 per litre but did not provide its own price list.
