Army General Vows To Protect Oil Infrastructure

The General Officer Command, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj.Gen. J H Abdusallam has said that the Nigerian Army will continue to safeguard the nation’s critical infrastructure in other to create a conducive atmosphere for the increase in the output of oil.

Maj. Gen. Abdusallam made the remark at the commissioning of newly reconstructed 3 Battalion Soldiers transit accommodation at the Nigerian Army Barracks, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

While noting that the Nigerian economic is dependent mostly on oil, Maj. Gen Abdusallam pointed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave matching order that effect.

“We should do all it takes to increase and improve the output of crude oil for the benefits of our country.

Since that time, we have been in series of several operation in the Niger Delta both in Rivers State, Bayelsa, Delta name it, we have been in several operations, everywhere.”

Maj. Gen. Abdusallam noted that the production of crude oil have increased pointing out that the efforts and operations of the Nigerian Army has yielded good results.

According to him,”We have destroyed so many illegal Rifinaries, we can’t even mention the number because they are so many.

And we have confisticated so many illegal product.”

Maj. Gen. Abdusallam urged illegal bunkers to look for other genuine means and of livelihood or ways to make money. “There are many ways of making money. Its not only through stealing of our common natural resources that you can make money.”
