A traditional priestess in Ekhuere Community, Agbarho Town, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has heroically thwarted an attempted kidnapping at her home. The incident occurred on Saturday morning when suspected kidnappers targeted the priestess.

According to information gathered by *The Nat’l Telescope*, the kidnappers, believed to be of northern origin, broke into the priestess’s home, which also serves as her shrine, located in a secluded area.

During the invasion, the assailants encountered the priestess’s daughter, who immediately called for her mother’s help. In response, the kidnappers stabbed the daughter.

The priestess, armed with a machete, rushed to the scene and overpowered the attackers. In a dramatic turn of events, she subdued the kidnappers, tied them up, and inflicted injuries on their legs to prevent them from escaping.

In a video shared on social media, the suspects were shown tied up.

The priestess however explained her actions in a follow-up video, stating, “I tied them down by myself before I called the community boys to take them away. After tying them, I cut their legs to restrict them from running away.”

At the time of filing this report, the suspects are in custody at the Agbarho Police Station, while the priestess’s daughter is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
