Key stakeholders in Nigeria have committed to partnering with Dangote Cement Plc to advance government’s goals of delivering social and economic development.
During familiarisation visits to the Dangote Cement Plant in Obajana, Kogi State, senior officials from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Industrial Training Fund (ITF) highlighted their interest in supporting Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s efforts in job creation and national development.
Mr. Femi Osungbohun, the NYSC Coordinator for Kogi State, expressed gratitude for Dangote Cement’s consistent support in areas such as corps members’ welfare and infrastructure at the Asanya Camp, Kabba.
He also requested assistance in constructing a hall dedicated to the Group President, recognising Mr. Dangote’s significant contributions to Nigeria.
Engr. Azad Nawabuddin, the Plant Director of Dangote Cement, Obajana, represented by Mr. Adeniyi Azeez, General Manager of Human Assets Management (HAM), reaffirmed the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility initiatives benefiting local communities, institutions, and social programmes.
During his visit, Mr. J. O. Omezi, Comptroller of the NIS, Kogi State Command, emphasised the importance of strengthening ties between Dangote Cement and the Immigration Service.
He appreciated the company’s ongoing support, noting that a sustained relationship would be mutually beneficial.
Engr. Nawabuddin welcomed the NIS team, reiterating the company’s dedication to maintaining strong collaborations with major stakeholders.
Officials from the ITF Kogi State Office also visited the Obajana plant to assess compliance with training regulations.
Led by Engr. Bbatunde Olugbenga John, Head of Training, the team acknowledged the plant as one of Nigeria’s compliant organisations by presenting a plaque to the Plant Director.
During the visit, the ITF officials promoted Programmes designed to build youth capacity for self-employment and job opportunities.
Engr. Nawabuddin encouraged the ITF to enhance the visibility of their activities in Kogi State, particularly those related to Dangote Cement Obajana.
He pledged the plant’s support for ITF programmes and urged it to ensure that Dangote Cement Obajana receives all entitled benefits.
