The Federal Government is working to reduce food prices, as announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari.
He revealed that the government has implemented various policies and programmes to aid farmers and enhance food security, resulting in a noticeable decrease in food costs across the country.
Kyari urged farmers, particularly the youth, to focus on essential agricultural activities to strengthen the nation’s food supply.
He highlighted the distribution of farming inputs under the NAGS-AP Programme and various fertilisers provided by the Central Bank as examples of government support for agriculture.
Emphasising the importance of collective efforts, Kyari called on Nigerians to prioritise cultivating agricultural lands instead of participating in protests.
He expressed optimism about the upcoming harvest season, citing favourable weather conditions and expected rainfall, which should further reduce food prices.
