Hardship Protest: Delta Police Orders Massive Deployment of Personnel

The Delta State Police Command, led by the Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, today issued a directive for organizers of the nationwide protest to provide comprehensive details about their planned activities.

This was disclosed to journalist, by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Edafe Bright, Asaba.

The police order follows the mandate from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to ensure adequate security arrangements are in place.

The CP has requested the following information from protest organizers in Delta State: Proposed protest/assembling points and routes. Expected duration of the protest. Names and contact details of protest leaders and organizers. Measures to prevent hijacking by criminal elements.

CP emphasized the importance of cooperation from both organizers and participants to ensure the protest remains peaceful and free from the influence of unscrupulous individuals.

He assured residents that the police command is committed to deploying all available resources to protect the public and maintain law and order throughout the protest period.

The CP has ordered a massive deployment of police personnel across the state to prevent any potential disturbances.

Additionally, undercover operatives from the State Intelligence Department will be monitoring the protest to identify and neutralize any threats posed by miscreants.

Residents are advised to maintain the sanctity of public gatherings and lawful assemblies, avoiding actions that could lead to a breakdown of law and order. The Delta State Police Command remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens during this period of heightened activity.
