President Tinubu Meets Royal fathers to avert Protest

President Bola Tinubu has had a critical meeting with traditional rulers from across Nigeria at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting includes prominent figures such as Sultan Muhammad Abubakar III of Sokoto and Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi of Ife.

Although the specific agenda has not been disclosed, it is widely believed to be part of President Tinubu’s strategy to prevent the planned nationwide protest against worsening economic conditions in the country.

In recent days, President Tinubu has been actively engaging with various stakeholders to address growing discontent and avoid the scheduled protests.

State governors have also been urging residents to refrain from participating in the demonstrations due to concerns about potential violence.

The United Nations has raised alarms about the risk of certain groups with hidden agendas possibly hijacking the protests, which could lead to increased violence and instability.

The meeting, which is being attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun, and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, reflects a concerted effort by the government to address the nation’s economic challenges.

Additionally, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), and Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, are also present.
