He noted the government’s commitment to ensuring that the funds are used effectively to benefit the nation.

The proposed budget includes a N3.2 trillion increase in capital expenditure and an additional N3 trillion for recurrent expenditure, primarily to accommodate the newly proposed national minimum wage.

Significant projects highlighted in the budget include the Lagos-Calabar road project, the Sokoto-Badagry road projects, and various rail projects.

Bagudu also revealed that N522 billion has been allocated for water, irrigation, and dam projects, underlining the government’s commitment to improving essential infrastructure and supporting economic growth.

During the session, the Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Akin Rotimi, requested a detailed list of the achievements of the Tinubu administration to ensure transparency and accountability in the utilisation of the budgetary funds.

The House Committee on Appropriation, led by its chairman, assured that all necessary legislative measures would be undertaken to ensure the budget’s successful implementation for the overall benefit of Nigerians.

The committee emphasised its role in overseeing the budget to guarantee that the proposed projects are completed efficiently and that the funds are used responsibly.
