Tinubu Seeks Enhanced Economic Ties With Partner Nations

President Bola Tinubu has stated the need to enhance the economic value of Nigeria’s bilateral relations with partner nations.

He made this call on Thursday while receiving Letters of Credence from the Ambassadors of Portugal, Vietnam, and Kuwait at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Welcoming the Portuguese Ambassador, Jorge Adao Martins Dos Santos, President Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Portugal.

He highlighted their shared interests in trade, culture, and the oil and gas sector, noting that these partnerships have yielded significant gains for both countries.

“It is good to have you in Nigeria. I am happy you are familiar with Nigeria and the environment.

“I believe that with your presence, our bilateral relations will be further improved,” President Tinubu stated.

In response, the Portuguese Ambassador acknowledged the strong economic ties between the two nations, particularly in the energy sector, and expressed interest in further strengthening these relations.

During his meeting with the Vietnamese Ambassador, Biu Quoc Hung, President Tinubu emphasised the potential benefits of Vietnam’s advanced manufacturing and automation technologies for Nigeria’s industrial sector.

“We share a lot with Vietnam in terms of diversity and values. We really value our bilateral agreements, especially in technology,” the President said.

Ambassador Hung expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future under President Tinubu’s leadership and committed to strengthening economic ties.

President Tinubu also met with the Kuwaiti Ambassador, Salim Khalifa Mohammed Almuzayen, where he extended his appreciation to the Emir and the Crown Prince of Kuwait.

He expressed commitment to exploring more economic opportunities for mutual benefit.

“We are both committed to the development of our people and will explore opportunities for economic ties.

“I have an open-door policy so you can always reach me,” President Tinubu assured.

The Kuwaiti Ambassador pledged to strengthen bilateral ties and work towards the mutual benefit of both nations.
