Delta Govt Responsible for State’s Insecurity – Ayiri Emami

By Chuks Peter, DELTA

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Ayirimi Emami, today stated that the State Government is the cause of the insecurity in the State.

He claimed that the forthcoming local government elections will reveal the government’s failures and justify why they should not be granted state police authority.

“They’re talking about state police. This election will expose them because they are the ones causing the insecurity,” Emami declared.

Chief Emami asserted that if the government is granted state police powers, it will abuse the authority to target and eliminate its perceived enemies arbitrarily.

He made this assertion during the official presentation of election materials to APC Chairmanship candidates for Warri South, Warri North, and Warri South-West: Prince Francis Yonwuren, Chief Samuel Omamuli, and Hon. Bene Mamamu, respectively.

The presentation took place at the office of the Chief Ayiri APC Support Group in Warri.

Chief Emami noted that the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) is under the control of the state government.

He presented the election materials to the three Warri APC Chairmanship candidates to kickstart their campaigns ahead of the elections slated for July 13.

He expressed confidence that the APC would win the three local government councils if the elections were conducted fairly.

“Except they want to falsify the results, but we will not allow it,” Emami stated.

Chief Emami urged APC party members to support the chairmanship candidates in their efforts to win the elections.

APC Warri South Local Government Area Chairman, Mario Owumi, endorsed the Chairmanship candidate, Prince Francis Yonwuren, describing him as the best candidate for the position.

“Light has come to Warri town,” Owumi proclaimed, encouraging the people to support and vote massively for the APC candidate.

Present at the brief event were Pastor Kingsley Omonigho, running mate to APC Chairmanship candidate for Warri South; Hon. Binitie Ogbitse, running mate to APC Chairmanship candidate for Warri South-West; and Comrade Omatseye Akatakpo, running mate to APC Chairmanship candidate for Warri North.
