The Zamfara State Government has commenced the payment of N30,000 minimum wage to its workers, fulfilling a promise made by Governor Dauda Lawal last month.

This is an increase from the previous monthly salary of N7,000.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, civil servants in Zamfara started receiving their June salary on June 12, ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

According to the statement, the government has demonstrated its commitment to the welfare of workers, having earlier paid three months’ withheld salaries, leave grants, and owed gratuities.

It also pledged to continue reforming and rejuvenating the state’s civil service, ensuring timely payment of salaries and improved working conditions.
