As Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has warned against bribery and extortion at airports nationwide, assuring travellers of a seamless journey.
In a statement, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs Obiageli Orah, assured Nigerians of a hitch-free travel experience, saying: “FAAN assures Nigerians of a very seamless travel through our airports this Salah festive season.”
Orah encouraged travellers to arrive early at the airport, saying: “International travellers must be at the airport three hours before departure, while local travellers must arrive about two hours before the flight schedule.”
She warned against engaging touts and encouraged passengers to respect rules and regulations, saying: “Do not give bribes or encourage extortion. Respect rules and regulations in respect of carriage of prohibited articles, liquids, and gel.”
The Managing Director of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, had earlier warned staff and government agencies operating at airports that FAAN would punish anyone found culpable of bribery or extortion.
With the assurance of a seamless travel experience, Nigerians can now celebrate Eid-el-Kabir without worrying about airport hassles.
