IGP orders investigation into Alleged Murder of Andrew Ochekwo

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, has ordered the Monitoring Unit to launch a comprehensive investigation into the suspected murder of Andrew Ochekwo. This move follows the disappearance of two women, Celine and Afiba, after visiting Andrew in Aba, Abia State.

Amidst swirling allegations and debates surrounding the case, the IGP has deemed it crucial to delve deeply into the matter. The investigation will scrutinize the actions of the initial investigating team in Abia State and the Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (IGP-IRT).

This was made known in a statement written on behalf of the IGP by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Monday.

The Monitoring Unit has been tasked with completing the investigation within two weeks and presenting a detailed report. The IGP assures the public of a professional and impartial handling of the case, urging calm and cooperation from all stakeholders.

Individuals or groups with pertinent information are encouraged to step forward and assist in the investigation, with the assurance of utmost confidentiality. Information can be shared via email at pressforabuja@police.gov.ng or through social media channels.

The Nigeria Police Force expresses gratitude for the public’s cooperation and pledges to provide timely updates as the investigation progresses.
