An Islamic Non-Governmental Organisation, Sisters of Jannah (SOJ), Ilorin Zone, extended its charitable activities to the General Hospital, Ilorin, by presenting monetary gifts to patients.

On Sunday, members of the association visited the postnatal surgical ward, gynecological ward, and maternity wards. During the visit, they offered prayers and gave hope to the patients.

Led by Mrs. Rukayat Balogun, the group prayed for the patients’ speedy recovery and presented N10,000 monetary gifts to 10 patients each.

The patients expressed their happiness and gratitude to the association members for their kindness, praying for the continued good health of members.

Mrs. Mistura Afolabi, the SOJ Coordinator for the Ilorin Zone, explained that the visit aimed to show love and uphold the Islamic teaching of caring for the sick.

“Members deemed it fit to visit the patients, give them hope, and let them know they have not been forgotten, as well as support them in a small way,” she said.

“As Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advised, we should be each other’s keepers and a shoulder to lean on.

“We decided to come to give hope and show love to the sick. One of SOJ’s agendas is to show love to the less privileged and the vulnerable,” Mrs. Afolabi added.

She noted that the gifts donated to the patients came from monthly dues from members of the association and donations from well-wishers.

SOJ is a female-only Muslim group with different zones across Nigeria, dedicated to helping fellow Muslim women and children around the world.

The Ilorin Zone of the group has been involved in various charitable activities, such as free cancer screenings for women, building wells, donating school items, and visiting orphanages and correctional centers
