A total of 240 patients benefited from a free medical outreach organised by resident doctors and staff of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) on Thursday.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the opening of the UITH-run Primary Healthcare Centre in Igbaja, located in Ifelodun LGA of Kwara State.
The outreach provided clinical attention to patients suffering from hypertension, diabetes, malaria, and other ailments. Health education sessions were also conducted by Nurse Bosede Komolafe, and mosquito nets were distributed to patients.
The successful event was supported by HRM, Oba Ahmed Awuni Babalola Arepo III, Elder Olaitan Oyin Zubair, and others who contributed to the programme.
The organiser, Dr U.I.Abubakar, and his team received commendations for their efforts in delivering quality healthcare services to the community.
Beneficiaries praised the medical outreach as a laudable initiative, demonstrating the commitment of UITH and its staff to improving the health and wellbeing of the people of Igbaja and its surrounding areas.
