Farm Inputs Distribution: 30 Rice Cluster Farm Groups Benefit in Edu LGA

Over 30 rice cluster farm groups have received support through the ongoing statewide distribution of farm inputs in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas, shared this information while overseeing the distribution to cluster farmers in Yelwa Village, Bacita, Edu Local Government.

Mrs. Thomas, who also chairs the Inputs Distribution Committee, praised the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his dedication to advancing Kwara State.

She expressed satisfaction with the successful distribution of the inputs, urging the benefiting farmers to use them wisely to encourage further government assistance in improving their livelihoods.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, explained that the team was in Yelwa Village under the directive of Governor AbdulRazaq to distribute inputs to grassroots farmers.

Congratulating the beneficiaries, Bata assured them that the current administration is aware of the challenges facing the agricultural sector, especially subsistence farmers and is working to boost food production.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe and the Special Assistant on Small Farmers Intervention, Hon. Suleiman Belle, echoed the Commissioner’s sentiments.

They reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of genuine farmers.

The State Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Hon. Mahmud Aboki, thanked the state government for its support, noting that it is a groundbreaking intervention directly impacting farmers on their lands.

Earlier, the Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi, represented by Sentraki of Tsaragi, Alhaji Jubril Gana Jubril, praised the government’s initiative and its efforts to improve farmers’ livelihoods.
