Vandalism: Yola Electricity Company Announces Power Restoration

Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has announced the restoration of power supply to customers within its region.

This came following an unplanned outage due to the vandalisation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) 330kV Jos-Gombe Transmission line.

In a press release by the management and dated April 27, 2024, YEDC The company assured customers that TCN engineers, in collaboration with YEDC teams, have been working tirelessly to restore electricity supply to affected areas.

It stated that power has been restored to the Potiskum 132kV line at 17:20hrs on April 25, with an allocation of 15 megawatts (MW).

It added that, the Savannah 132kV line is back in circuit, indicating further progress in the restoration efforts.

It also said that the TCN Yola 132kV Station has been restored, and YEDC engineers are on standby to facilitate the restoration of electricity supply to the company’s esteemed customers.

The statement read, “We deeply appreciate the resilience and understanding of our customers during this unplanned outage due to vandalization of the TCN 330kV Jos-Gombe Transmission line.

“We are glad to inform our esteemed customers that TCN engineers with our teams at YEDC have restored supply in some of our franchise areas and are gradually restoring to other areas as quickly as they can.

“Supply was restored to the Potiskum 132kv line @1720hrs on the 25th of April and 15mw was allocated to them, While the Savannah 132Kv is back in circuit. Currently, TCN Yola 132 Kv Station is restored as well and YEDC engineers are on standby to restore supply to our esteemed customers.
