Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has inaugurated the newly constituted Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), charging them to conduct free, fair, and credible polls.
The new ENSIEC leadership, confirmed by the Enugu State House of Assembly, comprises Professor Christian Ngwu as Chairman, Barr. Ifesinachi Umeobika as Commission Secretary and six members namely; Arthur Edeh, Solomon Udeh, Chinenye Ogbu, George Obiora, Paully Eze and Emeka Ukwuaba
During the inauguration at the Government House, Enugu, Governor Mbah emphasized the significance of the electoral body’s role in administering local government council elections.
He urged the new board to ensure strict adherence to election rules, without fear or favor, and to discharge their duties creditably.
In his response, ENSIEC Chairman, Professor Christian Ngwu, expressed gratitude to the governor and assured that the new leadership would revitalize ENSIEC, providing a level playing ground for all political parties.
He pledged to “reengineer, reinvigorate, and re-enliven” ENSIEC, leaving it better than they met it, and ensuring the people of Enugu State are never disappointed.
