In a bid to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors during the Eid-El-Fitr celebration, the Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Umar J.G Mohammed has approved the deployment of 3,500 personnel across various strategic locations in the state.

He revealed that the deployment will spread across every corner of the state, paying special attention to areas at high risk of criminal activities such as black spots, flash points, vulnerable targets, and places known for frequent criminal activities.

This was contained in a statement issued by the spokesman of the command, Ayoola Michael Shola and made available to newsmen in Ilorin Kwara State.

He further maintained that the personnel have been assigned the critical duties of preserving peace, averting disturbances, and swiftly addressing any security issues that may emerge before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.

Commandant Umar emphasized that the corps is fully prepared to confront individuals with malicious intentions to disrupt peace and undermine law and order. Additionally, he instructed area commanders, divisional officers, and heads of tactical units to enforce stringent security measures and maintain continuous vigilance over all critical national assets and infrastructure within their jurisdiction.

While congratulating Muslim faithfuls in the state on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Commandant Umar encouraged residents to cooperate with the corps and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
