The Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has kicked against the reports about his quitting the Labour Party (LP), on whose platform he contested as presidential candidate in 2023, respectively.
This was disclosed in a statement by the media aide to Obi, Michael Nwolisa, in Abuja. He described the news as fake and fallacious.
He further said the report was not true and did not emanate from Obi or the “Obidient” Movement but from mischief makers bent on destroying the image of the party.
“These rising misdemeanors on the party did not start today as they set out to destroy and disorganize the party all to get at Obi.
“Presently, our principal is preoccupied with making Nigeria work but not with partisan politics, which ended on October 26, 2023, when the Supreme Court of the land took its final decision on the presidential election.”
This is a medium used by enemies to cause havoc among the LP members.
He stated that Obi’s current focus is on establishing an atmosphere in which democracy will be conducted in accordance with established principles, free from the impunity that permeates the political world.
Therefore, Peter Obi would want to reassure Nigerians—especially the “Obidient” family—that his relationship with LP remains unwavering and unbroken.
He said that until the Nigerian people’s desire was satisfied, the fight to free Nigeria from those who were keeping it down would not end.
