Tears as Olubadan buried in Ibadan

The atmosphere was filled with sorrow while faces of several relatives and sympathisers were enmeshed in tears as the remains of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, were buried at his Aliiwo ancestral home around 4.30pm on Friday.

NATIONAL TELESCOPE had earlier reported that the late Olubadan, died at the age of 81 on Thursday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness having reigned for two years.

The lying-in-state was held at Mapo Hall from 12 noon to 1 pm before the remains were moved to Aliwo for burial after prayers.

Among the dignitaries present is the state deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, who led other government functionaries to the family burial ground.
