Police games will promote tourism, says Tinubu as Biennial begins in Ibadan

President Bola Tinubu has declared the 14th Biennial Police Games in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The event tagged “Oluyole 2024” is themed “Competing for Peace, Unity, Stability, and Development of Nigeria.”

It features over 4000 athletes from 17 zonal commands nationwide who will be competing in 30 games.

Speaking at the event held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, the president stated that the games aim to provide experiential tourism and showcase the multifaceted nature of the Nigerian police.

Tinubu was represented at the event by the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.

In his address, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, acknowledged the event’s historical significance in nurturing sports talents.
