Be transparent to gain public trust, says Police IG

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has said transparency is crucial to securing public trust.

He also highlighted the potential for creating value through leadership and public relations.

He said this while expressing his goodwill to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at its 2023 Annual General Meeting and Conference.

This was made known in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Friday.

The IGP underscored the NPF’s dedication to collaborating with the NIPR. He highlighted the importance of having NIPR members appointed to public relations roles within the police force while noting that the NPF boasts a substantial membership within the NIPR, with over 200 members, the majority of whom are part of the public relations department, while others have moved on to other roles.

The Inspector-General of Police reiterated the steadfast commitment of the NPF to establishing a formidable reputation for the force, one that is recognized for its people-friendly approach and unwavering commitment to upholding human rights while providing service excellence.
