WAEC to release results today

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is set to release the results of the May/June 2023 West African Examination Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on Monday.

This announcement was made by Mrs Moyosola Adesina, the Acting Head of Public Affairs and Head of National Office, in a release sent to Vanguard.

During a recent conversation with a medium, not Vanguard, Mr. Patrick Areghan, representing the National Office of WAEC, expressed that the marking of the results for 1,621,853 candidates proceeded smoothly, even in regions affected by the sit-at-home orders.

He assured that the council is working diligently to meet the deadline and ensure that the school exam results are made public next week.

The examination registered a total of 1,621,853 candidates from 20,851 secondary schools. Of these candidates, 798,810 are males, representing 49.25 percent, and 823,043 are females, representing 50.75 percent.

The overall process was successful, with no issues reported during the marking of the 76 subjects, even in the South East region affected by the sit-at-home orders.
