Four escape death as Helicopter crash in Lagos (See Photos)

No fewer than four people escaped death on Monday after a private helicopter crashed at Oba Akran road, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The aircraft which was on its way to Muhammed International Airport crash landed on the busy road around 3:30pm.

In a video posted on social media, the plane ascended on high speed and crashed and burst into flames shortly after a tanker had passed.

Meanwhile, two people believed to be the pilots and another two yet to be identified were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Amodu Shakiru, said no death was recorded.
He said, “The helicopter crashed into a building but nobody died. The helicopter was used for training and it has four occupants on board. They had an escort motorised team that was following them on the ground during the training routine exercise which is the standard protocol.

“The motorised team was the first to arrive at the scene. The occupants sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical attention. We will provide more details later”

Also, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) disclosed that helicopter with registration number 5NCCQ belongs to Airfirst Hospitality and Tour Ltd.
