Over 55 football coaches from across Delta State have successfully completed a four-day training organized by ACT Sports Di Oyibo in collaboration with the Delta State Football Association (DFA).

The event, held at the Kwale Township Stadium, culminated in the launch of the Torino Football Academy in Delta State, marking a new chapter in grassroots football development.

The training brought together coaches from all 25 local government areas, equipping them with modern coaching techniques and certificates to enhance their contributions to youth football development in Delta and Nigeria.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Coach Gabriele Maganozzi, head of the Torino Football Club delegation, highlighted the focus on identifying young talent. “We are here to scout talented players, especially the younger ones. Those who excel will get the chance to train with Torino FC. My advice to all is to stay focused and bring their best,” Maganozzi stated.

One of the participating coaches, Coach Efetoboh Davidson Akpobome, vice chairman of the Uvwie Local Government Football Association, expressed his appreciation. “This training has been a valuable experience. Over 50 coaches from all corners of Delta State are benefiting, and it’s been enlightening,” he shared.

Pastor Samuel R. Oyibo, CEO of ACT Sports Di Oyibo, thanked DFA and participants for their commitment. “This goes beyond football; it’s about building lasting relationships. Our mission is to use football as a tool to spread love and create opportunities for young talent,” he noted.

DFA Chairman, Chief Godwin Adode, lauded the initiative as a significant stride in grassroots football. “We commend ACT Sports for bringing in Italian coaches. This partnership is critical to building our local football scene. With 50 coaches and over 100 players in this event, we’re looking at a bright future for Delta football,” he remarked.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including FIGC Coach Instructor Glaudo Ferri, ACT Sports Secretary Maria G. Di Blasi, and Pastor Samuel R. Oyibo, all of whom played key roles in making the training a success.
