The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 29 years old lady who reportedly stabbed her husband to death.
Confirming the report to National Telescope on Monday, November 15, 2021, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello said: “Operatives of Edo State Police Command have on 13/11/2021 at about 0810HRS arrested one Afishatu Abdulrashid ‘F'(29) for stabbing her husband one Abdulrashid Dagana (m) in Jattu, Etsako West LGA of Edo State.”
According to the report, Afishatu who is the second wife of Dagana stabbed her husband after being caught with her lover on their matrimonial bed.
The incident happened on Sunday, November 14 in Jattu- Uzaire, Etsako West Local Government of Edo State.
A source disclosed to Daily Trust that, “The man was living with two wives in his house, but had to rent an apartment for his first wife in a different location to allow peace to reign while staying with the junior one in his house.”
According to the source, the deceased spent more time with his first wife than the second, but information got to him that the latter was cheating on him.
“Dangana decided to confirm the allegation by visiting his second wife at her apartment very early in the morning.
“On getting there, he was said to have caught the woman with her lover and decided to deal with the visitor but his wife stabbed him so that her alleged lover could escape and the incident will appear like robbery.”
The source added that, Abdulateef died from the wounds inflicted on him by his wife.
The police later arrived at the scene of the incident to safe Abdulateef’s wife from a mob who were about to take laws into their hands.
